Will CatProof work for my garden?
Probably. We don't sell standard kits because gardens aren't standard. We assess your walls, fences, gates, trees, neighbouring structures and other potential escape routes, then design the system around them.
My cat is a serious escape artist. Will this actually work?
That's precisely what we're designing for.
We look at how cats climb, jump and use surrounding structures rather than simply adding something to the top of a wall and hoping everyone behaves.
Your installation is also backed by The CatProof Guarantee. If your cat gets beyond an area we've secured, we'll return and correct the containment at no additional charge.*
Is it safe for my cat?
Yes.
Our systems work by preventing access to escape routes rather than hurting or frightening your cat.
No electric shocks. No sharp spikes. Nothing designed to cause pain.
Will my garden look like a prison?
No. That would be awful.
CatProof systems are designed to work with your existing walls, fences, trees and landscaping while remaining as discreet as possible.
The containment should ideally fade into the background.
Can my cat still climb trees?
Absolutely.
We're not trying to remove everything cats enjoy about being outside.
Where a tree creates an escape route, we'll design a guard or containment solution around it so your cat can continue using the tree without using it to depart the premises.
Do you replace my existing walls or fences?
Usually not.
Wherever possible, CatProof works with your existing boundary by adding containment rather than replacing the wall or fence itself.
What does CatProof cost?
It depends on the property.
The biggest factors are the length and type of boundary, accessibility, trees, gates, terrain, netted areas and unusual structures.
You can use our online cost estimator to get an initial price range before booking anything.
For an exact quote, we conduct a R250 site assessment. If you choose to proceed with your installation, the R250 is deducted from your final invoice.
Why do you charge for the site assessment?
Because we're doing more than arriving with a tape measure.
We inspect the complete property, identify potential escape routes, assess installation requirements and prepare a custom quote for your garden.
The assessment costs R250 and is fully credited toward your installation if you proceed.
How long does installation take?
Most homes can be completed in one to two days.
Larger properties, difficult access or more complicated containment may take longer. Your quote will include the expected installation time before work begins.
What does The CatProof Guarantee cover?
If your cat finds a way beyond an area we've secured, we'll return and correct the containment at no additional charge.*
The guarantee applies to the CatProof containment we've installed rather than unrelated changes to the property, damage or access points outside our work.

Can you CatProof gates and awkward corners?
Yes.
Gates, trees, pergolas, sheds, changes in wall height and neighbouring structures are exactly the areas we assess.
Cats are rarely considerate enough to escape only via the easy routes.
I'm renting or live in a complex. Can I still CatProof?
Potentially.
Many systems can be fitted to existing walls and fences with relatively little visual impact.
Where landlord, body corporate or HOA approval is required, we can provide details of the proposed system for approval before installation.
Where do you install?
We install throughout Cape Town and selected surrounding areas.
Our standard site assessment starts at R250. Where additional travel charges apply because of distance, we'll confirm them with you before the appointment.
